Eco-Responsible Minimal Packaging

We only use eco-friendly packaging that is recyclable and often reusable.  Glass jars and bottles with recyclable components (labels, pipettes, lids etc…), and refills housed in paper pouches.  Not only is glass more sustainable, the chance of chemicals leaching out into your product (as they can from plastic) is eliminated.

We believe it’s time for the beauty industry to start rethinking packaging.  There is a HUGE amount of excessive and unnecessary packaging being used.  Shelf appeal is of course vital for beauty products, however, is all the excess packaging that comes with beauty products really necessary?

At Mono, we’ve chosen to do things a bit differently.  We want our products to not only be skin friendly and animal friendly, but also as earth friendly as possible.  That means no unnecessary packaging – no double, paper packaging / outer cartons or *shudder* shrink wrap.  Just what's needed.  Although boxes look pretty on the shelves of stores, they’re not necessary in most cases and rather wasteful – 9 times out of 10 they get thrown in the bin as soon as you get home.  Outer cartons also add (quite a big chunk) to the cost of a product - we're not going to ask you to pay for some cardboard you're not going to keep!

We will soon be offering the eco-friendly option to download a digital version of our ingredients tags, so you'll be able to choose a 'no tag' option (which we of course encouage!).  We send digital Invoices rather than paper, and keep branding collateral to a minimum (endless leaflets drive us nuts too, and are completely unnecessary, usually being thrown out/recycled immediately after delivery!).

Our passion for sustainability also extends to our shipping materials.  All shipping materials are completely recyclable.  The mailing boxes we send your orders out in are made from recycled material and are 100% recyclable, reusable & biodegradable. We also use recyclable paper packaging tape and shredded paper void fill to protect your products during transit.
